Secret ALJ Policy is Over (May 2013)

As of April 2013 the Social Security Administration is letting us know the identity of the Administrative Law Judge who will decide your case before your hearing takes place. For about 18 months prior to April 2013 the identity of the ALJ was a secret until the day of your hearing. It is clearly better to know who will hear a case prior to a hearing so i can organize evidence for the specific ALJ who will hear your case. It is also best to be able to tell my clients about their ALJ as soon as possible in order that they will know what to expect.
